Newburyport is all decked out for the holidays and welcoming visitors with over 25 events to celebrate the season!
A festive night out with friends? A magical event for the kids? The members of the Newburyport Arts Collective offer dozens of arts and cultural events to bring the whole family joy as the holidays approach. Before or after your adventure, take a photograph in front of the giant Christmas tree in market square, enjoy the seasonal decorations on every vintage street lamp and throughout the historic downtown, and treat yourself to one-of-a-kind holiday shopping in our unique little shops!

Holiday concert from the most exciting group of young female vocalists in the Northeast. Trained at some of the top music schools in the country, these young women perform your favorite Christmas pop and classic tunes both in harmony and jaw dropping solo performances! This show is guaranteed to put you in the spirit as the big day approaches, with acoustics in the historic St. Paul's church that will blow you away.

The Port Express

Joppa Dance Company presents, The Port Express!, another exciting holiday production, this time adapted from the Christmas favorite, The Polar Express. Shows are Friday, December 6th 7:30pm, Saturday, December 7th 2:00pm & 7:30pm, and Sunday, December 8th 2:00pm. On Christmas Eve three sisters realize they have lost the magic bell. Fearful that it will curse their Christmas celebration, they find themselves on the train to the North Pole for Santa’s help. The journey takes them through magical places including an enchanted forrest and a land of sweets.

Students are playing music from around the world that has in common a reverence for the winter solstice, the stars, and an appreciation of the night sky, where mystery lives on. As we acknowledge our shared humanity at this time of the year, students will perform beneath images of the night, with circular seating around a grand piano!
